Community Outreach – Batavia Fire Department Open House

Valley Fire Protection was invited by the Batavia Fire Protection District to attend their open house on October 11, 2009, to inform the public about all aspects of fire protection and life-saving procedures.   Zack Fromm and Jami Morehouse of Valley Fire Protection provided the public with additional resources, stressing the benefits and importance of residential and commercial fire sprinkler systems.

The National Fire Prevention Association’s side-by-side burn demonstration illustrated the difference between a sprinkled and unsprinkled living area in the unfortunate event of a fire.  The room that was protected by a single fire sprinkler head suppressed the fire within 10 seconds.  The unsprinkled room was fully engulfed in flames within 1 minute.  With an average fire department response time of three to four minutes per call, there is no substitute for fire sprinkler systems.
